Someone once asked me why I couldn't just be like everyone else, sleeping at night and waking in the morning- basically following the usual routine that many follow their whole lives. So, I asked them, "ARE YOU HAPPY?"
To preface what I’m about to share, I want to say that throughout my life I’ve connected with individuals from all walks of life, even before I began traveling abroad, and with my increasing presence online over the past few years for professional and personal purposes, have made myself accessible to even more. Some have even expressed feeling an ease or intimacy with me at first meeting which is no longer unusual to me.
Unfortunately, at times, some of these individuals occasionally become too excessive, obsessive, overly involved, overly dependent and in some cases threatening or doing irrational things in attempts to garner my attention or presence, violating my privacy and boundaries. I’m not a person who likes drama nor others who always seem to conjure it up, and I never share things that I believe will cause worry regarding myself, including not sharing situations concerning some of those individuals, especially if I’m okay and feel it can be handled without alerting others and causing them to see them in a bad light. I have only done so when individuals’ attempts to garner my attention or presence get increasingly intense or go to extremes that are so unhealthy they could result in harm. Therefore, I’ve decided to address recent events "instigated" by a couple individuals, neither related nor close to me, claiming me to be MISSING, which have caused unnecessary drama and worry. What's the purpose of language? To be perfect? Since I started teaching English as a second language, I'm convinced many believe it is. So, if it isn't, what is?

Teachers who normally teach in a physical classroom but now have to teach virtually as a result of Covid-19 restrictions have no doubt been faced with some disturbing dilemmas. I've heard about those who are having difficulty navigating the platforms, poor internet connections for students and lack of preparedness for this new situation that most teachers who may have never had online teaching experience were forced into without much notice but expected to produce like they had. However, something has been brought to my attention that never crossed my mind regarding this, that I would say is more than just disturbing but incredibly dangerous for both students and teachers.
